QUOTE FROM BENNY DUBOSE, CHIEF OF MERIDIAN, MISSISSIPPI POLICE DEPARTMENT! IT'S A GOOD ONE!

The quote you will see here will explain a lot.  Sadly to say, all over the nation in towns and cities like Meridian, Mississippi, attitudes like the ones displayed by Chief Dubose are why innocent people are suffering.  Has he had a change of heart?  We'll find out.

Chief Benny Dubose was meeting with Lucinda Johnson and Richard Lofton.  They were asking whether or not the chief was going to have Lt. Harper investigate the wrongdoing of Detective Havard.  Basically they were asking if the chief was going to act on the complaint that Ms. Johnson had filed.* 

The Chief was acting foolishly.  He kept saying things that were not true, and Ms. Johnson knew it because she had prepared the 35 page report showing, from Detective Havard's own police report, that he did not investigate the arson against Christ's Church In Action properly.

When Ms. Johnson, exasperated, finally said, "Chief, you are ignorant of what's in that report," Chief Dubose said,

                                  "I CHOOSE TO BE IGNORANT."

Our website was launched a few days later.  In another meeting after that, Chief Dubose said that he had read the whole report Lucinda Johnson had written, and he was going to have "Deano" (Lt. Dean Harper) look into it.  Isn't it sad that The Arm of Justice had to get involved and go to these lengths before the Chief of Police in Meridian, Mississippi, would do the right thing.  

Let us hope that this is not just another whitewash, and that the chief has really had a change of heart.
