THE SHELDON (WHITEHOUSE) CONNECTION

(This document will be better understood if you first read WADE DEMERS WAS FRAMED!)

(updated 11/25/09, with copy of Providence RI Police Report, below, corroborating what Sheldon Whitehouse wrote in his report, that Wade Demers committed no offense yet was convicted of a crime.  Also, a reminder to look at the letter further below written to Christ's Church in Action's secretary, signed by Sheldon Whitehouse himself!)

(with ROGERIEE THOMPSON information--Rogeriee Thompson of Rhode Island has recently been nominated by President Obama to the First Circuit US Court of Appeals.  Rogeriee Thompson has committed perjury, attempted extortion, defrauded the courts, and committed many other crimes--her actions have hurt children and caused and perpetuated circumstances which led to the murder of a woman and the suicide of a young boy.  Please keep reading for further details and the connection between Rogeriee Thompson and the victims that are the subject of this website, Pastor Wade Demers and Christ's Church In Action.)

*****************************************************************

What connection does current U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse have with the situation regarding Pastor Wade Demers of Christ's Church In Action (CCIA) and the persecution he has received at the hands of government and law enforcement?

Early in Pastor Demers' ministry, in the State of Rhode Island where CCIA was then located, Pastor Demers was thrust into a situation whereby he found out about (and became the victim of) a judge and two lawyers who were bilking an estate and, more sadly and critically, causing children to be harmed.  Pastor Demers became a “whistleblower” of sorts, his main concern being the harm being done to the children…the judge and lawyers (with the complicity of law enforcement, clergy, and government in Pastor Demers’ home state of Rhode Island where he resided at the time) conspired to frame Pastor Demers in order to "shut him up" and hide their crimes. They brought a total of 10 false charges against him in order to hide their own crimes and to keep Pastor Demers quiet. (The judge was Family Court Judge Thomas Fay who later became Chief Justice of the Rhode Island Supreme Court and is now a convicted felon and has been disbarred; the lawyers were Nicholas Colangelo and Rogeriee Thompson.)

Pastor Demers was falsely jailed, after a court trial on 10 false charges produced only 1 conviction which the “framers” were able to obtain via a corrupt judge, a tampered-with jury, and false testimony (perjury) by then attorney Rogeriee Thompson. Rogeriee Thompson, a friend of Fay's, had been appointed by him as guardian ad litem to look out for the interests of the children.  Rogeriee Thompson did not do her job and the children were getting in more and more trouble.  Pastor Demers was trying to get her to do her job and look out for the children who were being greatly harmed under her watch. (His hands had been tied illegally by the courts in that the courts illegally denied him any visitation with his children.  He had found out what was happening to them through others who had visited the house.) Three key points to note here are:

1.  If you will read the report prepared and written by Sheldon Whitehouse, below, you will see that Rogeriee Thompson's claim that she was "threatened" in her office by Pastor Demers is false.  The so called "threat" was that he said he would go to the media with information about her.  That is not illegal, is not a crime, and is not a threat! (See page 10 of Whitehouse's report, below.) It is nothing that anyone should be charged with or falsely jailed for, but Rogeriee Thompson and others used this against Pastor Demers and had him framed.

2.  The trial against Pastor Demers was a sham with a biased judge and a rigged jury.  The foreman of the jury was head of the local ACLU and had admittedly different beliefs than Pastor Demers, which he used to sway the jury into convicting him. (One juror stated after the fact that she had been tricked and wrote letters to this effect saying that Pastor Demers never should have been convicted.  I have a copy of some of these letters in my possession.) Rev. Tom Ahlburn (then of the First Unitarian Church of Providence, now deceased) said to the jury foreman, after the trial, "But you know that Pastor Demers is innocent," and the foreman said, "I don't care--I don't like his beliefs."

3.  The trial court judge. Anthony Gianinni, who had received an incentive from then Chief Justice Thomas Fay (one of the people who had committed crimes he did not want exposed) to assist in obtaining false convictions against Pastor Demers, did not allow the key witness in Pastor Demers' defense,  police officer William McCusker, to testify.  McCusker had testimony and a police report to prove that all Pastor Demers was doing at Rogeriee Thompson's office was waiting for a receipt, and that there was no offense committed by Pastor Demers.  (Sheldon Whitehouse's report reads, on page 9:  "The police report filed after the incident indicated no offense occurred and no charge was pressed.") Judge Giannini, although the policeman was in the hallway waiting to testify, told the officer to leave and did not allow him to testify. Also see copy of actual police report showing that it was a "non-offense," below.)

To explain how the report by Sheldon Whitehouse came to be written, one day this young man named Sheldon Whitehouse, who worked for then RI Governor Bruce Sundlun, went, with another person, to visit Pastor Demers in prison. Due to a large volume of letters from citizens proclaiming that Pastor Demers should not have been convicted, Sheldon Whitehouse had been assigned by Governor Sundlun to investigate the case.

Some details are below in an excerpt from another document regarding the case, which will explain more:

Part of the proof that Pastor Demers was framed is a document produced by a man who was policy chief to then Governor Bruce Sundlun, Sheldon Whitehouse (who went on to be U.S. Federal Attorney for RI, then RI Attorney General, and is now a United States Senator). This document was hand-signed by Governor Sundlun. This document not only confirms that Pastor Demers was framed, but it is quite detailed and confirms that what Pastor Demers was saying was true.

The way this document came to be written is that the governor of Rhode Island at the time, Bruce Sundlun, received a barrage of letters regarding Pastor Demers’ innocence. Most of the people who wrote were NOT members of Pastor Demers’ church, but were various center of influence people who knew Pastor Demers and his wife and his mode of life. And because of the diversity and prominence of their positions and their non-direct relationship with Pastor Demers, Governor Sundlun felt compelled to act, and so he appointed Sheldon Whitehouse, who was his executive counsel (and later became his policy chief), to do an investigation into the matter. These people who wrote the letters knew that Pastor Demers shouldn’t have been charged with any crime. (Just some of the people who wrote letters included a Rhode Island State Senator named Mike Flynn, two ministers (Rev. John Randall and Rev. Tom Ahlburn), an attorney named Monroe Allen, Professor Gordon H. Dash, Jr. (a professor and department chairman at Rhode Island College0, and even one of the jurors on Pastor Demers' case who realized that she had been tricked.)

Sheldon Whitehouse did hours and hours of research and wrote a detailed report in which he stated, among other things, that Pastor Demers was only trying to get help for his children. He confirmed that what Pastor Demers was saying about what was going on at the house, (where he had been illegally removed by a false, ex-parte court order obtained with lies from his ex-wife), was true. For example, specifically referring to the children, who, under the supervision of Jacalynn Demers, were “becoming sexually active,” “drinking and using drugs, and associating with a tough and dangerous group of youths.” (The children were 4, 12, and 14 at the time. Rogeriee Thompson was the court appointed guardian ad litem for those children at the time, and was fully aware of what was going on, yet did nothing.)  As an end result of his research, Sheldon Whitehouse recommended to the governor that Wade Demers be pardoned.

It appears that the only reason that Governor Sundlun did not pardon Pastor Demers was political. Pastor Demers had previously been chairman of the Republican Party, and this was a Democratic administration. Governor Sundlun wrote that a pardon hadn’t been done in Rhode Island in 40 years. Governor Sundlun also said that he didn’t want to “effectively reverse the judgment of both the Superior and Supreme Courts of our state.” Obviously, since I have seen from my research that the judiciary was involved in framing Pastor Demers to keep him quiet about their own crimes, it wouldn’t make political sense in Governor Sundlun’s mind for him to pardon Pastor Demers.

It is really too bad that Governor Sundlun did not want to embarrass the judiciary in Rhode Island at the time by issuing the pardon. How ironic that the very judiciary he did not want to embarrass went on to embarrass the state of Rhode Island…Supreme Court Justice Fay was the highest paid state level judge in the country who went on to be disbarred and to become a convicted felon.

Also, the following is explained in an extensive article that was in the Providence Journal about Governor Sundlun. Governor Sundlun was a Democrat coming into a Democratic administration but he was a Jewish man who was a social outsider to the Italian Catholic Democratic machine that was in control of Rhode Island. In this article it was made clear that Bruce Sundlun couldn’t really be “his own man,” because the people that he was dealing with were all Italian Catholics, such as former Governor Ed DiPrete (who became a convicted felon and served time in prison), Joe DeAngelis, the speaker of the house of representatives (who happened to be Pastor Demers’ arch rival from when Pastor Demers was chairman of the Republican Party in his hometown to DeAngelis’ being chairman of the Democratic Party there), and John Bevilacqua, who was the head of the RI Senate. Also, John Cicilline was the governor’s lawyer, and the brother of Jack Cicilline who was the lawyer for the Mafia. Governor Sundlun was trying, as a Jewish man, to fit in, so he didn’t want to take a chance on offending anybody with anything. The article explained that he would “cow tow” to them and compromise because he didn’t want to offend them; he was trying to fit in, not alienate.

Also Judge Fay had been set up to be the “golden boy” of this administration to control the courts to the political machine’s advantage. Judge Fay, (one of the people who framed Pastor Demers), was one of the people whom the political machine had illegally set up to be in a position to do whatever they asked him to do, instantly being promoted from being a “nobody” Family Court judge to being Chief Justice of the Rhode Island Supreme Court.

It should be further noted that ultimately, after Pastor Demers did 46 expose shows on statewide cable TV interconnect, concerning statewide corruption, that Mattie Smith and Judge Fay were caught in some illegal activity, and were expelled from their respective positions with the state. As a result of this, Judge Fay was disbarred and is now a convicted felon. Mattie Smith was exposed as being one of the “kingpins” controlling the Democratic political machine, and Judge Fay was one of his pawns, and of course, this information is all readily available in public documentation.

Morally and ethically, and according to the laws, of course, Governor Sundlun should have pardoned Pastor Demers and done much more, such as bringing the perpetrators of the framing to justice; but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work that way except in the movies. No one seems to have enough guts to do the right thing, because they’d have too much to lose personally. And that’s another reason that we are doing this; we’re not going to be like them. Lots of people both in government and public offices and the like, as well as people in the private sector, should have stood up and done something, but they didn’t. We’re not going to be like them… Just reviewing the television shows that Pastor Demers made inspired us to stand up and tell the truth where others won’t.

POINT TO NOTE:

Sheldon Whitehouse was the only one who spent numerous hours and did much work in his research to show the truth in this case. His work did not produce the desired results (the pardon), as his hands were politically tied to move forward after the Governor (wrongly) denied the pardon for political reasons. For details on this, read the words in red at

https://justicespeaker.blogspot.com/2008/07/wade-demers-saved-his-daughter.html

Interestingly, Sheldon Whitehouse went on to be the U.S. Attorney for Rhode Island, Rhode Island Attorney General, and, as stated previously, is now a United States Senator working to bring about the Obama administration’s goal of justice, including prosecuting people who have left office but who committed crimes while in office.

Senator Whitehouse’s document is actually fairly sketchy due to the massive amounts of terrible things that went on; so although he did a lot of research and met with Pastor Demers, Mrs. Demers, Lucinda Johnson and others for hours and hours and did extensive research, he could only include, in his report, a bare minimum within the constraints put upon him.  For some real details of some more of the terrible things that went on, including details of the things done by Rogeriee Thompson, read the words in red at:

Sheldon Report - Governors pardon denial.pdf (6,5 MB)

 ___________________________________________________

LETTER

New Addition:  April 7, 2009.  My sources have located a letter which was written by Sheldon Whitehouse to Ms. Deborah Keller, who was then secretary to Christ's Church In Action.  Ms. Keller had apparently dropped off a note thanking Mr. Whitehouse for all of his efforts in researching and documenting the false charges that had been brought against Pastor Wade Demers, and for recommending to the governor that he pardon the pastor.  As you saw if you read the document prepared by Sen. Whitehouse, the date of the governor’s denial of the pardon was June 7, 1993.  This letter to Ms. Keller was written on June 14, 1993.  (See letter, below.)  (ALSO SEE COMMENTARY BELOW LETTER.)

The letter reads:

"Thank you for stopping at my office and dropping off your nice note.

Tell Wade not to lose faith.   I'm no Biblical scholar, but Job may be an appropriate reference."

Very truly yours,

Sheldon (signature)

Sheldon Whitehouse

Director

Ms. Keller was obviously in the mode of asking if something further could be done about the pardon for Pastor Demers.  Sheldon Whitehouse, in his letter to her, responds with "Tell Wade not to lose faith," and makes reference to Job in the Bible, obviously referring to the patience of Job in telling her to let "Wade" know to have patience regarding the pardon and that something further would be done about it.

This obviously indicates that Sheldon Whitehouse felt very strongly that what Rogeriee Thompson had done was improper in bringing a charge against Pastor Demers in the first place.

Unfortunately, Senator Claiborne Pell (now deceased) and others told Sheldon Whitehouse that it would be bad for him politically to strongly pursue helping Pastor Demers because it would embarrass people in Rhode Island's Democratic machine.  After that, Sheldon's efforts on behalf of Pastor Demers ceased.

Isn't it interesting and sad how, after people have these kinds of interactions with political veterans and other people in power, all of a sudden they can be turned away from their integrity?

(It is interesting and sad how the above statement has come into play with the nomination of Rogeriee Thompson to the First Circuit Court of Appeals.  How quickly Sen. Whitehouse seems to have forgotten his own words in his own report about what Rogeriee Thompson did.)

I PERSONALLY CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW SHELDON WHITEHOUSE COULD FORGET THE THINGS HE WROTE IN HIS REPORT, AND THAT ROGERIEE THOMPSON BROUGHT A FALSE CHARGE AGAINST A MAN, AND COMMITTED CRIMINAL NEGLECT IN HER DUTIES WHICH CAUSED CHILDREN AND MANY OTHERS TO BE HARMED, AND RESULTED IN A MURDER OF A WOMAN TO BE COMMITTED AND THE SUICIDE OF A BOY.  SENATOR WHITEHOUSE NEEDS TO REALIZE THAT THE TRUTH CANNOT BE BURIED, AND THAT WHAT HE WROTE IS NOT GOING TO JUST "GO AWAY," NOR ARE THOSE OF US WHO WILL CONTINUE TO TRY AND MAKE THESE THINGS KNOWN, EVEN THOUGH THE MEDIA HAS STIFLED THE TRUTH.

(The persecutions against Wade Demers and Christ's Church In Action have been going on for over 25 years now.  For details of more current persecutions, including arson against the church and a cover-up of that arson, see:
