As to his reasoning, Pastor Demers shared these thoughts with me: 

"This is not our battle; it is God’s. My work is not mine, it is His. It is true that the entire world is in the power of the enemy. And so, Berachot, as you can see, seeking justice from those among men who are purportedly responsible to bring about justice, is vain, in matters of or concerning people involved in the work of God. 

"Hypocrisy and apostasy reign, in our government and in our churches. Your tremendous efforts are understood and believed by all except the very short-sighted or ignorant. Their failure to act is a spiritual reality, and indicates no failure on your part. 

"I bid you be patient, and watch now and see what our Father in heaven, the Creator of the Universe, shall do. They are His enemies, not mine, and vengeance belongs to Him, not me. 

"I am weak and powerless before the government and authorities of men caught up in the corruption of this world. But my Father shall send forth His Word as a dread champion in our behalf, for we are but His servants. Watch, Berachot, and see, and marvel, for our Father will soon show that He has loved us and is with us. 

"Be still; wait on God. He shall confirm His word. Thank you for your efforts."

 Welcome to The Arm of Justice Website. 

RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY AND HATRED, HATE CRIMES, THE TORCHING OF A CHURCH BUILDING, ASSAULTS, THREATS, KIDNAPPINGS, AND COVER-UPS…ALL  IN VIOLATION OF THE LAW AND DESIGNED TO INTIMIDATE AND THREATEN PEOPLE TO PREVENT THEM FROM EXERCISING THEIR RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES (WHICH ARE SECURED TO THEM BY THE CONSTITUTION/LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES), AND/OR BECAUSE THEY HAVE EXERCISED THOSE RIGHTS.  This is part of what will be discussed and shown on our pages.

Although The Arm of Justice has helped many people over the years, we have created this website specifically at this time for those who may wish to find out more about the situation to which we are currently devoting the most time, which we believe needs the most attention:  serious crimes committed against a pastor and a church in Meridian, Mississippi, who have been targeted due to their religious beliefs.  This website will furnish easier access to documents and evidence regarding these matters for those who may wish to read them.  

Our aim is to expose the truth in our chosen situations regarding corruption and injustice.  In other matters, we've been able to get attention and resolution without this type of exposure being needed, but this was necessary in this situation due to the pervasiveness of the corruption which apparently extends all the way up to the governor's office in Mississippi, and in the past has extended all the way to Washington, D.C. (We are hoping that, indeed, "Change has come," and that lies and corruption will no longer be allowed.) 

Also, this website was necessary due to the corruption of the media in Meridian, Mississippi, where the publisher of the local newspaper (The Meridian Star), Crystal Dupre, has said to the victims on several occasions, "You will never get the truth out in my newspaper; you'll have to go elsewhere to get the truth out."  The television media in Meridian, Mississippi has also blocked the truth regarding the crimes against this church.

One of the tools of corruption and injustice is the use of the media to further the goals of keeping the public totally misinformed and in the dark.  An uninformed public is at a loss to act in the face of injustice.  Only when the light of truth is shown can those with true courage, ethics and morals come forth on behalf of their fellow man and say, "That's enough--we are not going to stand for this anymore."  As with the Jews in Nazi Germany and the blacks in America, the media concealed the horror of what was really happening.

If the media reported the truth, perhaps decent people would have had the courage to defend their neighbors from the injustices, and the horrors would not have gone on for so long.  Unfortunately, the pen of the media today has become a farce when it comes to ethics and truth.  Our newspapers will brag about, for example, chasing down a wallet thief while ignoring an arson against a church and the kidnapping of children. 

This was the burning of a church; there were threats prior to this which were motivated by religious hatred and bigotry, a circle was burned in the grass around a building as a threat or warning of what was to come, and then the building was “torched" by arsonists in the middle of the night. 

It is ironic perhaps that these injustices are occurring in the town where the three civil rights workers (murdered in 1964) were based.  Meridian is where they went out from the day they were murdered.  Meridian had a hatred problem then, and it has a hatred problem now.   Just as in the 60's when Mickey Schwerner declared that if they could get results in Mississippi (which was the most racist place in the nation), then perhaps they could get results anywhere--we declare to you that perhaps if Meridian, Mississippi can get over their hatred problem, the nation will start to become a better place.

Michael Schwerner died to achieve that goal, as did James Chaney and Andrew Goodman.  It is our hopes that this time Mississippi, specifically Meridian, where Mickey, James, and Andy went out from the day they were murdered, (and where many of their murderers were from) will be able to overcome its hatred before more people have to die.

THIS PARTICULAR WEBSITE IS FOCUSING ON THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, MISSISSIPPI AND WILL SHOW HOW POLITICAL CORRUPTION CAN LEAD TO ACTS OF VIOLENCE AND HATRED, IF THAT CORRUPTION IS ALLOWED TO GO UNCHECKED.    AND, AS MISSISSIPPI WAS ON THE FOREFRFONT OF WHAT WAS TERRIBLE IN THE 60'S WITH THE MURDERS OF THE THREE CIVIL RIGHTS WORKERS, AND AS IN THE MASSACRE OF 1871 (READ THE BOOK "THUNDER AT MERIDIAN"), IT IS STILL ON THE FOREFRONT OF WHAT IS TERRIBLY WRONG WITH OUR SOCIETY TODAY. ALTHOUGH THE MOVIE "MISSISSIPPI BURNING" TOOK TOO MANY HOLLYWOOD LIBERTIES, IT CERTAINLY PORTRAYED THE ATTITUDES OF HATRED AND BIAS THAT OBVIOUSLY STILL EXIST THERE TODAY, IF THESE KINDS OF THINGS CAN BE DONE TO PEOPLE BECAUSE OF RELIGIOUS BELIEFS. IT LOOKS LIKE THE FIRE HAS NEVER GONE OUT, AND IT LOOKS LIKE, AS EYES ARE LOOKING ON NOW, MAYBE MISSISSIPPI CAN FIND SOME PEACE, AND WE CAN PREVENT SOMETHING LIKE THIS FROM EVER HAPPENING AGAIN. 

CHANGE MAY HAVE COME TO WASHINGTON, AS THE TALKING HEADS ARE SAYING, BUT THE DE FACTO REALITY IS THAT CHANGE HAS NOT REALLY GOTTEN TO MAIN STREET WHEN THIS KIND OF NONSENSE AND CORRUPTION CAN GO UNCHECKED, AND THESE CRIMES CAN BE ONGOING--AS A POPULACE STANDS BY EITHER IN IGNORANCE OR APATHY--AND THE BAD GUYS CONTINUE UNCHECKED, LAUGHING AND CONSIDERING NOTHING SACRED--PROPERTY, PERSONS, CHILDREN, RELIGION...THE ONLY THING IMPORTANT TO THEM BEING THEIR OWN LIVES, POSITIONS, AND MATERIAL GAINS. 

THE MORE PEOPLE WHO KNOW, THE BETTER--REMEMBER, THE LIGHT SHATTERS THE DARKNESS. LET YOUR LIGHT BE THE ONE THAT SHINES AS YOU DO OR SAY WHATEVER YOU THINK YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO OR SAY, WHETHER IT IS TO SHARE THIS WEB ADDRESS WITH A FRIEND, TELL YOUR NEIGHBOR, MAKE A CALL, OR WHATEVER YOU THINK YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO TO MAKE A CHANGE FOR TRUTH AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.
