QUOTE OF THE WEEK FROM BANKER IN MERIDIAN, MISSISSIPPI

This person was recently told by one of the victims about the arson against Christ’s Church In Action not being investigated properly by the Meridian Police (because the former mayor told them not to and made sure that everything was blocked out of the media so the public wouldn’t know), the denial of equal protection under the law, etc.  The person was also told that the victims had placed some hope in the new mayor and administration, but that so far they appeared to be acting no differently than the last one.  The banker listened, shaking their head with an attitude of sympathy and incredulity. 

When told in addition that this victim and other people who go to Christ’s Church In Action aren’t allowed to eat at certain restaurants/coffee shops in the city because of where they go to church, this person said:

      "That's TERRIBLE--in this day and age?"
