ANOTHER QUOTABLE PERSON

If you have read about the warnings to Christ’s Church In Action (CCIA) from Meridian, Mississippi City Councilman Jesse Palmer, you know what he said. If not, we are printing them here.

The statements were made on August 21, 2007, to Lucinda Johnson, Executive Assistant to CCIA, in a telephone conversation, and to Pastor Demers, Pastor of CCIA, on August 24, 2007, also in a phone conversation.  I have copies of the signed, dated statements.  Jesse Palmer said:

"You were supposed to pack your bags and run after (they burned your house).”

“Don’t you know what they did to Martin Luther King when they tried different things and couldn’t stop him? They had him killed.”

“If I’m mad at you I’ll tell you to your face and hit you with a 2 by 4; not these people. You don’t know these people. They’ll go behind the scenes. They’re sneaky. And there are no limits to their capability.”

We pose some questions: 

Why has no one, in law enforcement or otherwise, ever asked Jesse Palmer about the serious things he said?

If what he said is true, this matter should have been investigated… And if it’s not true, why did he say it? Who put him up to it? 

Was Jesse Palmer being used as a tool to try and scare CCIA and coerce them to get out of town?

FLASH:  We have just received word that Jesse Palmer, as he was walking out of the Meridian, Mississippi Police Station after the Meridian City Council’s executive session on March 17, 2009, passed by Pastor Demers as he was talking to a young college student. Pastor Demers happened to mention to the young man, “There’s Jesse Palmer,” as Mr. Palmer walked by. Jesse Palmer angrily yelled to Pastor Demers: “YOU'D BETTER SHUT UP!”
